Applicant Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Submit a completed 2011 Miss Fiesta San Antonio Scholarship Pageant application no later that October 28, 2011 at 5 p.m.
- Be 18 to 23 years old
- Single, never married, no children and not pregnant
- Be a naturally-born female
- High School graduate
- Be a resident of or attending college/university in Bexar, Atascosa, Wilson, Guadalupe, Comal, Kendall, Bandera, or Medina Counties
- Be of good health and good moral character
- No record of illegal or immoral activity (applicant’s criminal history will be checked)
- No visible tattoos and/or piercings (other than ears)
- Not be related, by blood or adoption, to a Board Member of the Miss Fiesta San Antonio Scholarship Pageant, Inc. within the first degree of consanguinity (i.e. mother or father) or within the second degree (i.e. grandparents, grandchildren, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, brother, sister)
- Never held the title of Miss Fiesta San Antonio
- Not currently participating in any other pageant or holding another pageant title
- Miss Fiesta San Antonio must be available for appearances throughout Fiesta Week and other appearances throughout the year
2011 Scholarship Pageant Application
Miss Fiesta San Antonio Scholarship Pageant, Inc., values diversity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
There will be a $25 application fee, payable at the candidate interviews.
Contestant Forms
Judging
No entry fee is required. Finalists will be chosen through an interview process conducted by the Board of Directors during November. Applicants will be notified by phone, mail, or e-mail of the scheduled times for their interviews.
Finalists selected to participate in the Pageant will be judged by an independent panel of judges on three categories:
- Personal interview by Pageant judges (business attire)
- Evening gown competition; and
- A talent portion
Finalist is responsible for providing her own evening gown, costume and/or props. Assistance is provided throughout rehearsals. Rehearsals will be scheduled on several Saturdays and some weekday evenings prior to the Pageant.
Prizes
A $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to the person chosen as Miss Fiesta San Antonio. Scholarships may also be awarded to other contestants. Actual award amounts are subject to funding.
