Lauren Holt, Miss Fiesta San Antonio 2011
Lauren is a 20 year old San Antonio native. She is currently a junior at the University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in early childhood education. She loves working with children and believes that every child has the potential to be great at anything they set their mind to. She uses her philosophy to propel young gymnasts to follow their dreams as a coach at Gymnastics of San Antonio.
In addition to coaching Lauren enjoys using her helping hands around the community. She volunteers at the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio, the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital, The Humane Society of San Antonio, and mentoring young children through the Communities in Schools program. In her spare time Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing gymnastics, playing the flute and writing. Lauren dreams that one day she will be a successful children’s books writer to share important life lessons with children.
Krystal Diaz, Miss Fiesta First Princess 2011
Krystal is an 18 year old freshman attending Northeast Lakeview College majoring in Broadcast Journalism. Her career goal is to host her own television show and to interview individuals throughout the world.
Krystal is an active volunteer and mentor for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas along with the Special Olympics of Texas. Krystal is the Artistic Director and owner of DANZAVIDA De San Antonio Dance Company, which opened its doors in 2008. She began her dance training at the early age of 2 and later joined Flamenco Fuego De San Antonio Dance Company and has shared the stage with international Flamenco legend Charo. Krystal proudly represented the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department as the 49th Miss Recreation. She has also held the titles of Miss Teen San Antonio America and Miss San Antonio America and was a contestant at the 75th Miss Texas Pageant.
She is the proud founder of the Krystal for Kids Organization; which was established in 2007, with a mission of Reaching out through the Performing Arts. She hosts annual productions at the historic Arneson River Theater that benefits the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital and has raised thousands of dollars for the children of CHRISTUS. As an entertainer, Krystal has performed throughout Mexico and the United States. Because of her love for Fiesta San Antonio, she has been an entertainer at many Fiesta events for the past 16 years along with participating in the Battle of Flowers and Fiesta Flambeau Parades.
Samantha Vasquez, Miss Fiesta Second Princess 2011
Samantha Vasquez is a 20 year old sophomore at Northwest Vista College. She is majoring in Pre-Med Biology to become a Veterinarian. She also aspires to become a professional singer in the hopes of becoming a positive famous role model for girls everywhere.
Samantha has helped her community by helping her mother raise foster children for many years, being involved in her local food drives, and rescuing three animals from the ASPCA. Samantha has also been involved with the MS-150 for the past three years through her company. In her spare time, she loves to sing, dance, read, and act in plays. If chosen for Miss Fiesta, Samantha plans to become a positive role model for children and adults by representing San Antonio in a courteous and respectful manner.
